AllpunType: A Typeface with Chinese Zodiac & Wordplay Puns

AllpunType (諧靈附體) is a modified version of the Genryu Serif (源流明體) typeface, designed and programmed by justfont. It’s an open-source font designed to fulfill the yearly zodiac puns.

With AllpunType, you will find that every character substitute into a zodiac (十二生肖) pun (諧音梗). For example, typing characters with similar sounds to 鼠 /shǔ/ (rat) such as 使 /shǐ/, 書 /shū/, 死 /sǐ/ will all display as 鼠. Similarly, words like 榮 /róng/, 隆 /lóng/, 攏 /lǒng/ will be replaced with 龍 /lóng/ (dragon).

This font also extends to English and Japanese like surprise will become 蛇prise and すごい transforms into 鼠ごい. It’s perfect for anyone who loves a good pun or wants to annoy friends with endless wordplay.

The font is released under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 and is free for anyone to use and share with their friends.
